life smartphone

I like to have a high opinion of myself and think I’m nothing like the people depicted in this cartoon, but that’s not true. We’re talking degrees here, some are much worse than other, but I’m sure we can agree lots of people are so buried in their devices they rarely notice the world going on around them. This is definitely not the first video I’ve seen on the topic, but it is one of my favorites.

THE PUN-ISHER

pun isher

If you’ve done something to bring the Pun-isher to your door consider yourself lucky because the only people who get to hear his terrible puns are the ones left alive. A pretty good parody of the Marvel comics vigilante, if I get to choose death or puns, it’s death all day everyday.

The Hedgehog

the hedgehog

The Hedgehog is a short film by Chris Lee and Paul Storrie about a boy wandering a seemingly desolate town in a Sonic the Hedgehog costume. I like this film and I can’t exactly put my finger on why, it’s not particularly happy it’s quite the opposite, but I dig the film quite a bit. In an interview with Short Sighted Cinema the filmmakers talked about it’s development and the message of the film itself.

Extropy – Speedhack

extropy

Speedhack is a short proof of concept scene from sci-fi movie Extropy created by Dylan J Nathan. This is a pretty cool chase scene involving a chick and her motorcycle, and I’m not even sure where the machine begins and the person ends. The video reminds me of something right out of the Deus Ex video games.

mayweather punch out

I’m not sure how many of you saw the big fight over the weekend, it doesn’t matter because I saw it. The big takeaway here is the fight was a typical Floyd Mayweather snoozefest fight, as illustrated here by Noober Goober Gaming.

alchemists letter

Carlos Stevens directs this awesome animated short The Alchemist’s Letter. The short stars actors John Hurt and Eloise Webb. Visually this is an impressive piece of animation and the voice acting is better than some triple-a video games I could name.

How Guardians of the Galaxy Should Have Ended

hishe gotg

With the recent release of Avenger: Age of Ultron I’ve had some discussions about the other Marvel team up movie Guardians of the Galaxy. The main topic of conversation has been the ending in particular. While on the whole I loved guardians, I felt the ending was a bit too silly and left something to be desired. HISHE though has addressed these things and more.

Doctor Whom

dr whom

I’ve never really gotten into Dr Who, but I understand it has a loyal and rabid fan base. So I can’t speak to what does or doesn’t go on in the show, but I’m hoping that time lord customer service really exists. I know it’s a long shot but a guy can dream, it may even get me to check out the show for once.

With the recent announcement that Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 will in fact be coming out later this year, what better way to celebrate than with an unearthed rare TV spot from the 1980s by Iron Horse Cinema. Man weren’t the 80’s great? This looks like the perfect place for pizza and nightmares.
